How to train your dog to love the ramp in 5 steps

1. Start on level ground – lay the ramp flat, let your dog sniff and explore it, and reward calm behaviour.
2. Cross it together – slowly lead your dog across the flat ramp on a leash, praising every step.
3. Add a small height – place the ramp on a curb or low step and repeat at a flat angle.
4. Move to the tailgate – once your dog is confident, place the ramp against the car and walk up together if needed.
5. Stay positive – never force your dog. Short, positive sessions make the ramp a normal part of every car ride.
