Bring the vibe of an Ibiza beach club or a Balinese lounge to your own terrace.

The Coco Shade is a shade sail made from 100% natural coconut fibre, woven into an open structure that softens the sun, breaks the wind and filters light beautifully.

The result: dappled shade like sitting under a reed pergola by the Mediterranean — hung in minutes above your terrace, pool, lounge or hospitality venue.

Why a coconut fibre shade sail?

A classic polyester shade sail blocks the sun but also traps heat. The open weave of coconut fibre (1 × 1 cm mesh) lets air circulate freely: it stays noticeably cooler and fresher underneath. The sail also doesn't catch the wind like a closed canvas, making it ideal for exposed spots — coastal terraces, rooftops, beach bars.

And it looks the part: the warm, natural character of coconut fits perfectly with the boho, Ibiza and Bali trends. Combine with a wooden pergola, rattan furniture and linen cushions for a complete holiday feel.

100% natural and biodegradable

The Coco Shade is made from the fibres of the coconut husk, spun around a cotton thread core. No plastic, no coating: the sail is fully biodegradable and leaves no polluting waste at the end of its life. All sails are supplied fumigated and ready for installation.

Each sail is crafted by a Spanish outdoor textile specialist with over a century of experience (Barcelona, since 1885) — craftsmanship you can feel in every fibre.

  • Square shade sail — 2 × 2 m · 3 × 3 m (4 loops) · 4 × 4 m (8 loops)

Please note: coconut fibre is a 100% natural, flexible hand-woven material. The stated dimensions apply to the sail when tensioned and installed — untensioned (straight out of the packaging) the sail measures considerably smaller, as the weave stretches when properly tensioned. Even when tensioned, actual dimensions may vary by approx. 5–8% from the nominal size. This is inherent to the natural weaving process and not a manufacturing defect.

Easy installation

Thanks to the integrated stainless steel thimbles, you can tension the sail in no time between a wall, posts or pergola. Use the matching coconut rope for a fully natural look, or combine with carabiners and stainless steel tensioners for a crisp finish.

FAQ

Is a coconut fibre shade sail waterproof?

No — and that's deliberate. The open structure lets air and rain pass through, so the sail dries quickly, doesn't flap in the wind, and stays pleasantly cool underneath. For waterproof solutions, take a look at our parasols and closed shade sails.

How long does a coconut fibre shade sail last?

Coconut fibre is naturally strong and moisture-resistant. With normal use throughout the outdoor season, the sail lasts several years. Store it dry over winter to extend its lifespan.

Can the sail stay outside permanently?

The sail is made for outdoor use and resists moisture. As a 100% natural product it weathers gradually — that's part of its charm. For maximum lifespan, take it down during prolonged winter weather.

Does the colour vary between sails?

Yes, slightly. Coconut fibre is a natural product: each batch has its own warm tone and texture. No two sails are identical — which is exactly what makes them authentic.

How do I fix the shade sail?

Every corner features a stainless steel thimble. Attach it with coconut rope, carabiners or tensioners to wall anchors, posts or a pergola. Tension the sail at a slight angle so it keeps its natural drape.
