Why is the Sleepypod Mini considered a 3-in-1 pet bed?

The Sleepypod Mini transitions seamlessly from a permanent bed at home to a safe car seat and a stylish carrier. By using it as a bed first, your pet associates the Mini with safety and comfort, significantly reducing travel anxiety during vet visits or road trips.

Is the Mini version as safe as the original Sleepypod?

Yes. Despite its smaller size, it undergoes the same rigorous crash-testing as child safety seats. The integrated Velcro positioning straps and heavy-duty ballistic nylon ensure your pet is protected in the event of a collision.

What are the cleaning instructions?

The interior features a removable, machine-washable ultra-plush bedding. The exterior is made of luggage-grade ballistic nylon that can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth, keeping the carrier looking like new for years.

What makes the Sleepypod Mini unique as a 3-in-1 product?

The Sleepypod Mini is designed to reduce travel stress for your pet. It serves as a familiar sleeping bed at home. When it's time to travel, simply zip on the mesh dome, and it becomes a carrier. In the car, the Mini functions as a crash-tested car seat. Because your pet is already in their familiar bed, the journey is much calmer and more relaxing.

How safe is the Sleepypod Mini in the car?

Safety is paramount. Just like the larger version, the Mini has been extensively crash-tested to the same standards as child safety seats. You simply secure the seatbelt around the handle and through the positioning loops at the base. This prevents the bed from sliding or tipping during sudden braking or a collision.

Which pets is the Mini suitable for?

The Sleepypod Mini is specifically intended for the smallest pets up to a maximum of 3 kg (7 lbs). This includes kittens, Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, or small rabbits. The diameter of the bed is 33 cm and the height is 28 cm. For larger pets, we recommend the standard Sleepypod Mobile Pet Bed.

Can the Sleepypod Mini be taken into the airplane cabin?

Yes, the Mini’s compact dimensions often make it suitable for transport under an airplane seat. However, due to its round, sturdy shape, it is less flexible than the Sleepypod Air or Atom. We always advise checking the specific dimensions (33 x 28 cm) with your airline in advance.
