Why this shade sail?
01. Up to 95% UV block
The UV-stabilised fabric blocks up to 95% of UV rays. It meets the Australian standard AS 4174:2018 and is endorsed by the Cancer Council in Australia.
02. Heavy 340 gsm HDPE fabric
The knitted HDPE fabric is strong and holds its shape under tension. It is mould and mildew resistant.
03. 316 stainless steel D-rings
Every corner has a marine-grade 316 stainless steel D-ring, ready to tension with turnbuckles or rope.
04. Breathable fabric
The knitted fabric lets air and water through. Hot air can escape and rain does not pool on the sail.

FAQ
What makes Commercial Grade different from a regular shade sail?
The fabric is heavy 340 gsm HDPE, blocks up to 95% UV, and has 316 stainless steel D-rings and reinforced edges. Coolaroo gives it a 15-year warranty.
Is the shade sail waterproof?
No. The knitted fabric lets air and water through, so hot air can escape and rainwater does not pool on the sail.
What do I need to install it?
The sail comes with a D-ring on every corner. Posts or wall fixings, turnbuckles and rope or wire are not included.
How do I tension the sail correctly?
Tension the sail firmly and ideally at an angle, with fixing points at different heights. This lets rain run off and stops the sail flapping in the wind.
Which size do I need?
Measure the area you want to shade and allow room for the turnbuckles at each corner. The tensioned sail is therefore slightly smaller than the distance between the fixing points.
Does the colour affect UV protection?
All colours block up to 95% UV. Dark colours such as Graphite do absorb more heat than light colours such as Shell and Beech.
How do I clean the shade sail?
Rinse the sail with water and use a mild soap solution and a soft brush for stains. Do not use bleach or harsh cleaners.
