Buy a dog stroller: choose by your dog’s weight
A dog stroller (also called a pet stroller or dog pram) lets you keep walking together when your dog can no longer manage the whole distance: an older dog, a dog recovering from surgery or an injury, or a puppy that is not yet allowed to walk far. Every model has a maximum load set by the manufacturer. So choose first by your dog’s weight, then by the wheels and by how you will use the stroller.
Small dogs and cats up to 12 kg
The InnoPet Avenue and InnoPet City (up to 11 kg) weigh 5.5 kg and are made for the city; the City folds down to 45 × 48 × 28 cm. The InnoPet City Hopper (up to 12 kg) is a stroller, carrier and car seat with seat belt fixing in one. The InnoPet All Terrain carries 12.5 kg. If you travel a lot, look at the Ibiyaya JetPaw (up to 7 kg, bag for the plane) or the My Duque Carry Trio (up to 12 kg, with ISOFIX car seat base). The AirBuggy DOME 3 comes in size Regular for dogs up to 12 kg.
Medium dogs up to 30 kg

Large dogs from 30 to 80 kg
The InnoPet Mamut (up to 50 kg, weighing just 10.3 kg) has a very low entry and a cabin that opens fully; it is made for paved roads, parks and the city. The InnoPet Hercules 2.0 XL (up to 50 kg, cabin 85 × 61 × 61 cm) has air tyres at the back and is also available with a bike connection. From AirBuggy come the CUBE NEST (up to 45 kg, low entry), the CUBE CARRIAGE (up to 55 kg, with built-in ramp) and the AIR-CRUISER (up to 80 kg, with wooden step), for giant breeds.

Which dog stroller suits a large dog?
For dogs up to 50 kg, choose the InnoPet Mamut or Hercules 2.0 XL; up to 45 kg, the AirBuggy CUBE NEST. If your dog is heavier, the AirBuggy CUBE CARRIAGE carries up to 55 kg and the AIR-CRUISER up to 80 kg. If your dog struggles to get in, look at the very low entry of the Mamut, the ramp of the CUBE CARRIAGE (20 cm) or the wooden step of the AIR-CRUISER (22 cm).
Air tyres or puncture-proof wheels: which should I choose?
Air tyres absorb bumps best and ride most smoothly on grass, gravel and forest paths, but need pumping up now and then. Puncture-proof EFA or rubber wheels need no maintenance and cannot go flat. If you mainly walk in town or on paved paths, puncture-proof wheels are enough; if you often go into the woods or to the beach, air tyres are more comfortable.
Can I use a dog stroller as a bike trailer?
Yes, with some models. The InnoPet Sporty EVR, Sporty Deluxe and Sporty Evolution come with the bike arm. For the InnoPet Noah you buy the bike arm separately, and you choose the Hercules 2.0 in the version with bike connection. InnoPet advises against using the trailer behind an e-bike. The AirBuggy CUBE NEST becomes a bike trailer with the NEST Towbar, for dogs up to 45 kg and bikes with a rear wheel of at least 20 inches.
Which dogs benefit from a dog stroller?
Older dogs, dogs with joint problems or arthritis, dogs recovering from surgery or an injury, and puppies that are not yet allowed to walk far. Your dog can walk part of the way and rest in the stroller when tired. So you no longer have to skip a walk.
Can my dog also travel by car or plane with the stroller?
Yes, with a 3-in-1 model. At TAVO, car seat and stroller form one system, with built-in ISOFIX: the Maeve (tested to ECE R129, up to 18 kg) clicks directly onto the Roscoe Trek frame, and the Hendrick (up to 20.4 kg) and the Dupree I and II (up to 9 kg) with the TAVO stroller adapter. The My Duque Carry Trio has an ISOFIX car seat base, and the InnoPet City Hopper is secured with the seat belt. The Ibiyaya JetPaw bag (up to 7 kg) is a size most airlines accept; always check with your airline.
