Umbrosa Umbrella

Umbrosa – Belgian design parasols and shade sails

Umbrosa develops and produces all its parasols and shade sails in Belgium, in Roeselare. The collection is made for private gardens and terraces as well as for the project market, such as hospitality and hotels. First choose the type that suits your terrace: a cantilever parasol, a centre-pole parasol, a wall parasol or a shade sail.

Umbrosa FAQ

Cantilever or centre-pole parasol?

On a cantilever parasol such as the Spectra or Versa PX the pole stands to the side, so nothing gets in the way under the canopy, for example above a table or lounge set. A centre-pole parasol such as the Nata UX stands in the middle on a concrete base.

Which Umbrosa suits a small terrace or balcony?

The Paraflex mounts on the wall, so there is no base on the ground. It can also be mounted on a pole in the ground or on a mobile base.

How do I install an Umbrosa cantilever parasol?

The Spectra is anchored in the ground or placed on a mobile Umbrosa base. The Versa PX is mounted on or in the floor, or on a PX tile base or Large Flat Base. You will find bases and anchors among the installation accessories.

How much wind can an Umbrosa parasol handle?

In wind tunnel tests with fixed anchoring, Umbrosa parasols withstand wind speeds of more than 40 km/h (Beaufort 5). Because gusts can be stronger, Umbrosa advises closing the parasol from 30 km/h (Beaufort 4), fitting the protective cover and always choosing the heaviest possible base.

What fabric do Umbrosa parasols use?

Umbrosa uses a 100% acrylic fabric of 260 g/m², made by Dickson (Sunbrella) or Tuvatextil (Agora). It is water-repellent, has a colour rating of 7 out of 8 and is available in 14 colours, from Natural and Canvas to Black and Terra.

Parasol or shade sail?

A parasol shades one spot and is quick to close or move. An Umbrosa Ingenua shade sail covers a larger area; with the sliding mechanism on the poles you adjust the sail to the position of the sun.
